If you don't know how to address a female, which should you use? Ms. or Mrs.?

This is more a question of etiquette rather than grammar. However, I would use Ms. Mrs. is used for women who are married; and, if you don't know the female well, you may not want to assume she is married. Ms. is acceptable for both married and unmarried women.
