Phil asks...
In this sentence what would the correct spelling of do be. Is it do,or due? The rent payments will need to be made current ASAP, and do to this past payment history all payments must be "received in her office" by the fifth of each month or face heavy collection penalties (and/or) eviction.
Anne answers...
The correct word is 'due'. However, there are other issues with this sentence. Although you didn't ask, I'm submitting my version.

Rent payments must be made current immediately. Due to your past history, future payments must be received by the fifth of each month. Failure to comply can result in collection penalties and/or eviction.
