Nancy from Cambridge, MA asks...
How do I write the family name for a nameplate to hang on the front of a house - The Clampetts or The Clampett's?
Anne answers...
You write The Clampetts, since you are using the plural of Clampett. The apostrophe has nothing to do with it. Also, another suggesion is to simply put the last name without 'the' in front of it. Then you would use Clampett.
