I am ordering personalized ice cream bowls for my children. Which is correct? “Alexis’ ice cream” or “Alexis’s ice cream” I think the first but I want to make sure. Respectfully, Brenda :)

The rule is: If the singular noun ends with an s, add apostrophe s if the extra syllable is pronounced. If the extra syllable is not pronounced (or if it otherwise looks confusing to add apostrophe s), simply add an apostrophe. In your case, I would use “Alexis’s ice cream.”
