?`s and ANNEswers

I have a friend who wrote a poem, and one of the lines is: bells a jingle . How should Are there any apostrophes? like bells ‘a jingle or bells a’jingle Got any ideas?

I have researched your question and cannot come up with a definitive opinion. Consequently, I am left on my own. And here is what I think: The phrase does not require an apostrophe because there is no possessive involved; so the question is: “Does the ‘a jingle’ require any other form of punctuation? After studying it a while, I would opt for no punctuation. And if this isn’t comfortable, then I would add a hyphen between a and jingle.
