?`s and ANNEswers

What is the proper grammar: should it be parents’ night out or parent’s night out?

It depends on how many parents are getting the night out. If it is two or more parents, you add the “s” to parent, making it plural, and then you add the apostrophe, making it possessive since it’s their night out. If only one person is going, you start with the singular word “parent” and add the apostrophe before the “s”
